Often called “the champagne of coffee”, Jamaican Blue Mountain is one of the rarest and most sought-after coffees in the world. Cultivated exclusively in the misty peaks of Jamaica’s Blue Mountains at altitudes of 3,000–5,500 feet, these beans grow slowly in cool temperatures, absorbing the unique character of the rich volcanic soil and gentle rainfall.
Production is extremely limited — the region itself is small, and only beans meeting the exacting standards of the Jamaica Coffee Industry Board can bear the Blue Mountain name. Every bean is hand-picked, wet-processed, and sun-dried, with less than a fraction of the island’s total coffee output achieving certification.
This scarcity, coupled with its legendary flavor, makes Jamaican Blue Mountain one of the most expensive coffees in the world.
